Here comes the sun.....

So, I am not going to sit here and pretend I wasn't a bit nervous about the initial weather forecast for tomorrow. Was not sure how I was going to host the 4th of July bash here in the event of rain. Usually our 4th of July's are spent in South Carolina at my brother's house, but since my sister in law is deployed overseas right now and my nieces are spending the summer in PA with my parents, my brother is coming here and because I have a pool, the bash takes place at my house!!!  Imagine, if you will, my extreme happiness when I saw the blue skies move in, the white clouds push away the dark ugly clouds, and that great big yellow ball appear in the sky!!!! I even crawled onto my nifty stay dry raft and laid in the pool for a bit!!!! Weather looks good for tomorrow and I am a happy girl right now!!!!

Today was another day of amazing messages from people who expressed their thanks for the inspiration of Think Thankfully. I've gotten messages about how the idea of being positive helped someone in an extreme employment situation, someone whose marriage fell apart but yet there is a cordial friendship between all parties involved, and just a thank you for going out on a limb and trying to change the mindset of negative thinkers. The last one made me chuckle, because I enjoy quotes immensely and last school year, I would post things my students said that were quite profound in one way or another. I even posted one of my own quotes, "Negative thinkers are nothing but stinkers." While my students thought it was corny, I heard it uttered too many times to count!!! Negativity brings nothing but a miserable atmosphere and quite honestly, you attract other negative thinkers.

As I close out tonight's installment of Think Thankfully, I encourage each and every one of you to make a conscious effort to bypass the negative thoughts and words. Before you reach for the negative statements, the negative thought, ask yourself who the comment will benefit, who the statement lifts up, who will feel good about what is being said. People tend to listen to you because they feel sorry for you, not because they want to hear all the negative jumble coming from your mouth. Make sure the words you speak are not negative and harmful but rather positive and uplifting. If you can't be positive and uplifting then just smile and keep quiet. If you aren't going to do things to actively change how you think, then nothing in this world will ever make you happy. YOU are in charge of YOU!!

Until tomorrow, my friends....be positive! Be inspired!! Be inspiring!!!
